Krysty's New Haircut!

Krystyne wanted to try a new haircut for 8th grade. And she was tired of not liking her hair. So we ran off to the nearest place she could get her hair cut. We were going to wait until Monday but I thought we better go before she changed her mind. It wasn't a fancy salon or a pricey place. But it couldn't have gone better. "Mom I LOVE my hair!" That was the best.

Kinda Scraggley....

Enough with the camera already Mom!
Totally cool!

Playtime!

Thankfully we're back to having some nice weather! I bought the dogs some new toys the other day. Maggie isn't very good at sharing but they all had fun! I was able to snap some good photos of Maggie, Fred and Scrappy (aka Bad Dog)

A much needed day together

Doug and I had a fantastic day yesterday! It was a much needed break and time to reconnect that we both needed.

The time since we've been back has been quite an adjustment. I'm working from home now. I started again with my old boss doing medical billing. Now I'll be starting with another client in a couple weeks. It will hopefully mean shorter hours for possibly more money. No less money, that's for sure. It'll give me a little more time to work on school (which officially starts tomorrow) and I'm hoping for a little balance to our schedules.

Starting school is a little daunting. My first class is business 105. Pretty basic but not the onslaught and regurgitation of facts that I have been used to before. Holy crap I have to THINK about this stuff. Damn. So it adds to some of the frustrations.

Doug has his own host of things to worry about. When you're married you worry about your stuff and their stuff too. Compound that with the tight budget from the honeymoon and the added stress from the pregnancy, add some orange zest, dash of cinnimon, shake and serve over ice and you've got yourself quite the conoction. Which pretty much led to a silent retreat to our own corners and schedules.

After a small breakdown and a best-friend-call I decided that it was time to reconnect.

So, we headed off to Seattle for some together time. We ended up at The Crab Pot and had a great lunch. It was good to just be together. You'd think that because the girls are off on vacation that we would get plenty of time, but conflicting schedules are a hinderance.

We were only there a couple hours but it made a world of difference. Life is back to normal and I got to see my husband smile again.

Things No One Told You

So I was poking around on one of my messages boards earlier and came across this thread that I thought was hilarious! It was all about the things that no one tells you about when you get pregnant. I thought I'd share these. Those of you with kids will laugh!
Some of this is quoted from Cafe Mom

  • How "gassy" you will be... The belching and the farting that would make a frat boy proud!
  • The constant need to pee
  • The inability to poop
  • Morning Sickness lasts ALL DAY - for months!
  • forgetting stuff isn't just occasional. It's kind of like having amnesia constantly about everything. Some days I was lucky to make it home from work
  • Heartburn that feels like you swallowed hot coals! And you get it from eating mashed potatoes, but the 17 jalepenos you ate didn't bother you at all!
  • Are you having twins? No. Are you sure?
  • If someone touches my belly can I touch theirs?
  • that even tho your pregnant, the weight you gain feels like it really has nothing to do with a baby growing inside of you...
  • that the first thing to visually disappear is your vagina ( the thing that actually got you into the predicament in the first place).
  • that its nearly impossible to learn anything new while pregnant because your so darn uncomfortable and your memory is shot.
  • GIGANTIC NIPPLES!!
  • How much faster your hair grows. All of it! Your leg hair, under arms, eyebrows, that one hair every woman gets on her chin, and your bikini line. You look like some hairy beast woman and it's only been 2 days!!
  • I knew I would pee every hour of the day but does it have to be every 20 minutes that I sleep?
  • Not being able to move or get dressed without feeling like i been kicked in the crotch a hundred times
  • Swollen ankles
  • Complete loss of coordination and balance
  • Memory Loss
  • Not being able to sleep before the baby comes
  • Looking at your loving husband sleeping soundly and wanting to punch him in the face because you're awake. Again.
  • Leg cramps
  • Acne worse than when you were 15
  • Leaky boobs
  • Leaky bladder
  • Crying at the commercials, a billboard, magazine, book, or because the dishes need to be done
  • if get a headache, and tylenol is ineffective, you are SOL.
  • that everything you put in your body, sticks, and the doctor will tell you about it. so much for freedom to eat cake.
  • Memory Loss
  • Always thirsty!!!! I can chug a whole bottle of water in less then ten seconds.
  • bitch level is at like a 10 at all times
  • That your boobs and everything else will itch like crazy
  • You are annoyed by everyone - all the time
  • everything lands on your shirt and you go around with water marks on your belly
  • You feel this bond with other prego woman and you just want to run up to them and start comparing stories but you are afriad they will think you are a creep
  • The fact that you want to kick your husband in the teeth when he's being his sweetest because it's HIS fault you feel like crap in the first place.
  • That every kick and jab your baby gives you is the most amazing thing you have ever felt.

Doctor's Appointment

So we had another doctor's appointment and ultrasound today! Everything is fine and baby is doing wonderfully. She was still sleeping (lucky little one) and so she didn't wiggle too much this time. Good strong heartbeat and we got to see perfect little hands and feet!
We did talk to Dr. Fassler about my desire to be left pretty much alone through most of my labor. He said they would have to put the Heprin-Lock in my hand but that would be it. Otherwise they would be as "hands-off" as I wanted. We'll bring in a copy of our birth plan for the next visit to make sure there are no problems with what we want to do.
I did gain 10lbs. Not too bad at this point in the pregnancy but a big jump from last month - especially considering it's the only gain I've had. The nurse said that as long as I'm not doing this every time I come in that we're doing just fine!

So basically all is going well. I'll post the ultrasound pictures up later.
All our love!

Checking In

Hey Everyone,

Ok, so I know it's been a while but I thought I'd check in and let everyone know how things are going.

I'm working from home again. It's been a difficult adjustment but I'm getting used to it. It'll definitely be worth it. I think it's harder with the girls not being home since we don't have much of a schedule.

I start school on the 18th. I'm super excited about it. It's going to be difficult to juggle the girls, the house, work and school but it'll be worth it.

We signed up for a birth class that starts in September for hypnobirthing. It seems like the best option to help with the natural birth we are going for.

I also ordered an exercise ball. I can only sit in one spot for so log before my back starts to hurt. It really seems to help. Doug was really great about getting it filled for me! Thanks Darlin'!

Enjoy for now! I'll try to get some new pictures up soon.
